Frustration in Jamia’s students

Like other universities, Jamia Millia Islamia has kept itself abreast with development in Education, Social sciences, natural sciences, Engineering, and Technology etc. The medium of instruction in the J.M.I. at all stages of education and in all its institutions shall be urdu. However, in special cases, instructions English should be the medium of the students of Jamia and this factor really affects the students of Jamia Millia Islamia, whether in college or school.
Students have been frustrated in the sphere of this dilemma of medium.
Nazia Khan, student of E.T.E. 1st year, Education deptt. Stated that, “ I have been the student of jamia right from my childhood, and I studied each subject in school in Urdu language, but when I got admission in college, so I have noticed that all the classes and seminars are taking place in English, and it is my first year and Iam unable to cope up with this difficulty, I can understand English but it will take a much time for me to understand the language properly.
This was the first and foremost factor of frustration faced by jamia students, but there are students in the university who are not satisfied with their career which they chose regarding placements in the campus.
Safdar ali, student of mass communication bactch 2008, said, “ when I took admission in this course so I was told by my friends that mass communication of JMI provide placements to its students, I was really very delighted to hear it, because for me it was like a dream come true now at the end of this course I have really become hopeless to take my career as there is no placement in mass comm., I will have to find a job of my own, the question is not finding the job of your own, but the question arises when you pay 56,000 fee and told that you will be provided placement.
The students of jamia millia islamia are coping up with this crucial element of placement. There is no, doubt, that the courses of jamia are mind boggling and fantastic and eminent but in some depts. Like faculty of social work and engineering where students are really given placements with hundred percent surety. But the question is why placements cell is not available in the prominent and heartthrob deptt. Of jamia like mass comm. which is considered as Asia’s no. 1 faculty.

THEATRE: MEANS OF DEVELOPMENT

Life is full of colours. Colours make life amazing and impressive, life without colours seems to be dull, gloomy and slow moving. Creatures without colours seem lifeless, lacking vigour, vitality and excitement, be it birds, animals or human beings. And the world of culture and art on the other hand is dull and in complete without the colours of theatre activities or it can be said that the world of art has no existence without it.
Theatre provides spiritual, emotional, physical and creative aspects of the integrated development. Theatre is a mode to present human lives unsolved problems and his questions in front of ordinary man in a simple way. It is a best medium of awareness. By this way we can attack on the bad rituals of society, we can stop the exploitation occurring in the society through stage shows and street plays. This cultural art has a great historical place in human revolution. Now in most of the schools two community workers have been appointed from the same community to facilitate this process of creativity.
Creativity is allowing oneself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep- said Scott Adams and this proverb stands tall when made to picture the talent of the students. Their creativity, which surmounted all obstacles of making mistakes is a proof enough of their ingenious bent of mind, penning one’s thought in appropriate actions or dialogues, building a plot for a story, however easy it might seem while reading, is actually an uphill task. And to proofread someone’s innermost feelings, try to re-process somebody’s thoughts and attempt to correct someone’s reactions to a particular subject, is all the more taxing.
The role of performing art is very important in the development of one’s personality.
Theatre includes:
Awareness of self: This included self-confidence, knowledge of one’s strengths and weaknesses as well as ambitions and goals.
Personal effectiveness: or rather modes of relating to others assesses interpersonal skills, respect for people as well as a positive attitude and an internal focus of control.
