THEATRE: MEANS OF DEVELOPMENT

Life is full of colours. Colours make life amazing and impressive, life without colours seems to be dull, gloomy and slow moving. Creatures without colours seem lifeless, lacking vigour, vitality and excitement, be it birds, animals or human beings. And the world of culture and art on the other hand is dull and in complete without the colours of theatre activities or it can be said that the world of art has no existence without it.
Theatre provides spiritual, emotional, physical and creative aspects of the integrated development. Theatre is a mode to present human lives unsolved problems and his questions in front of ordinary man in a simple way. It is a best medium of awareness. By this way we can attack on the bad rituals of society, we can stop the exploitation occurring in the society through stage shows and street plays. This cultural art has a great historical place in human revolution. Now in most of the schools two community workers have been appointed from the same community to facilitate this process of creativity.
Creativity is allowing oneself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep- said Scott Adams and this proverb stands tall when made to picture the talent of the students. Their creativity, which surmounted all obstacles of making mistakes is a proof enough of their ingenious bent of mind, penning one’s thought in appropriate actions or dialogues, building a plot for a story, however easy it might seem while reading, is actually an uphill task. And to proofread someone’s innermost feelings, try to re-process somebody’s thoughts and attempt to correct someone’s reactions to a particular subject, is all the more taxing.
The role of performing art is very important in the development of one’s personality.
Theatre includes:
Awareness of self: This included self-confidence, knowledge of one’s strengths and weaknesses as well as ambitions and goals.
Personal effectiveness: or rather modes of relating to others assesses interpersonal skills, respect for people as well as a positive attitude and an internal focus of control.
Social sensitivity: This aimed at measuring attitudes pertaining to others groups in society in terms of tolerance and feeling of social responsibility.
Mime is a silent performance using actions to communicate to the audiences. THE BURNING PARADISE, as the name suggests, the theme of mime was restoring peace and harmony in the Kashmir valley. It also appreciates the government’s decision to conduct- election and restoring democracy in the valley. Lots of students have been benefited by the activities like theatre, drama, mime etc. It helped into developing personality in the students.
The most recognisable figures in theatre are the directors, playwrights and actors, but theatre is a highly collaborative endeavour. Plays are usually produced by a production team that commonly includes a scenic or set designer, lighting designer, costume designer, sound designer, stage manager, props mistress or master and production manager.
